Coffee pots

Because modern coffee makers come with their own pot, we rarely think of coffee pots as items in and of themselves. However, there are in fact different kinds of coffee pots. There are many types and styles.
Coffee pots made of metal used for cooking are called percolators. To use it simply place ground coffee in the small internal basket that sits on a funnel. Boiling water is then forced through this repeatedly and soaks the coffee grounds.
Other types of coffee pots are a drip, electric, plunger, and vacuum. The vacuum coffee pot was invented by Loeff in Berlin in the 1830s and has since been used and manufactured in many parts of the world. If you look into buying a plunger pot, note that this model can also be used for making tea.
